Age 14: Kodak 110. Why do my prints look like someone smeared gritty mud all over them?
Age 15: Agfa Rapid. Well this is better, but still a bit blurry.
Age 16: Pentax K1000. Oh, wow, this is soooo much better.
Age 17: Kodachrome. Holy Cow! This stuff is amazing!
Age 18: 8mm film.
Age 19: 16mm film (film student).
Age 22: Three Pentax K1000s. And wait. . . you mean people are willing to pay me to take photos?
Age 26: God, I'm sick of shooting to meet other people's demands. I've had enough of it and I'd rather be getting a steady paycheck in the travel industry. Down to one K1000 for nostalgia's sake, plus an Olympus XA for happysnaps.
Age 36: A Sony 4 megapickler digital for Christmas, and pleasantly surprised by the results. So several other digital compacts follow over the next few years.
Age 43: RIP Kodachrome.
Age 47: I guess I'll give a DSLR a try. Someone told me I can get an adapter to use my old Pentax lenses on a Canon. Oh, wait, hang on. . . apparently Pentax makes DSLRs too. And they're still using the K mount! Yipee!
Age 57: Still prefer a manual lens on a CCD sensor. Still hate autofocus and auto exposure. Becoming more and more of a grumpy old curmudgeon every day.
