For wildlife, I use the Sigma 135-400 and the Pentax 55-300 PLM on my KP, and the Sigma 170-500 on my K5IIs.

For macro, I use the Sigma 105 and Tamron 24-135.

For landscapes, cityscapes, I use the Sigma 17-70 and the Sigma 10-20.

For Volleyball, I use the Sigma 17-70 and the Sigma 50-150

On my K-3iii - it's the DFA 150-450 hands down, generally welded to the camera. Tiny number with the DFA-50/1.4.

If I look at my K-1, most used over the past 4 years or so, is the FA*600mm/F4 for Birding and wildlife, with the DFA15-30/2.8 for some astro and some landscapes (which I must admit would only be a handful), and the DFA 50mm/F2.8 Macro for my Product Photography.

When you look at it, what I use, and don't use often, Yeah, I have too many lenses.

The FA 35 is probably my most used lately, as I rotate it between my KP and my film bodies, with the DA 21 in a close second.

Nope, that doesn't follow.

Your pictures will be even sharper on your KP, because it only uses the higher quality central half of the lens.

Those are my most used lens in past 5 years .

What's yours .... ????
6 years ago I acquired the A 400/5.6, and since then I have used that lens to make more photos than any other. I've shot everything from butterflies to bears with it.

A little over a year ago, I acquired the Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 180/2.5, and since then it has been my most-used lens. And I've shot everything from butterflies to bears with that lens...

I guess the moral of the story is, you can change the gear, but maybe not the photographer

* Honorary mention to a trio of Tamron 85/90mm Macros I've owned - I've made a bunch of photos over the years with them, too.

Either Da* 300 f4 or Tamron 60b 300 f2.8 (usually with an Adaptall TC). Just depending on whether I'll have the monopod or not.
However the most recent addition, DA 18-135, is gaining fast (since I'm finding more opportunities to shoot non-telephoto shots because of it).
The other frequently used lenses are DFA* 50 f1.4 and Irix 150 macro.

I probably could (/should) sell the rest of my lenses and be happier for it, especially given that their value would probably buy me a K3iii, or a native K mount replacement for the 300 2.8.

The HD 55-300re wins overall most-used for now. For primes, M85/2 then a close race between A28/2.8 and an old Sigma 50/2.8 mf macro.

My sick solenoid sidelines all DA types at the moment; I swapped the 35 ltd macro for the sigma 50 plus "future considerations" i.e. cash.

Purely based on the number of photos I've taken with it, my most-used lens overall is my favourite workhorse Tamron 28-75 f/2.8... but I go through phases where I'll use one specific lens a great deal for several weeks or months (right now, it's the HD DA20-40), then it's back on the shelf for a while and another lens steps up to the plate. Still, I always find myself going back to the Tamron for general shooting. Other favourites include the HD DA21/3.2, HD FA35/2, HD DA55-300 (screw-drive) and Sigma 30/1.4 Art...

Ok , it seems I'm from that weird group of kit lens fanatics...... Or I really need to refresh my gear. The 18-55 is surprisingly good for my style, otherwise it would certainly be sitting in a case. But the nifty - fifty is also a regular.

My most used prime is probably the DA 40 XS.
My most used zoom is probably the DA 18-135mm.

I don't think that's weird, Michail... One of the few lenses I ever sold was the DA18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR, and within months of doing so I wished I hadn't. I bought a near-mint used one just last year to replace it. I have the non-HD 18-50 too, and like that equally (though I prefer the mechanics and build quality of the 18-55). Unless you're pixel-peeping, the image quality is more than adequate, and the WR models are especially useful...

I did look at the sigma 35 1.4, but was concerned with the bad AF inconsistency. I love Pentax lenses as was hoping there would have a fast 35mm. I like Fuji's fast prime offerings in that regard.
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Art is smaller (but still not small), cheaper and work better - I think - on APS-C. And it's nicely sharp at f/1.4, though there is purple fringing at f1.8 and below. It's not bad at f1.8 and not really noticeable by f2.

Based on 1.53 crop factor, the FA 31 is a 47mm-equivalent lens on APS-C... so for the K-1 you might as well just get a nifty 50 to get that field of view, if that is what you want.
