It looks like a positive lens designed to swing into an optical path for some use. I''ve seen something like this on glasses for jewelers where the glasses are for regular use and then when the jeweler wants to examine a watch close-up, they swing the lens down in front of one eye or the other (usually the right eye), and voila, instant magnifier.

Hello,

Is the pin fixed? Could that be related to the Exakta mount? Looks like a front element of a lens. It seems it screws into something else.
