Getting to know your fellow Pentaxian Peter Schluter

I've always liked Pete's photos, especially the pet pictures, which are treated as seriously as any human portrait, including the enhanced lighting.

He explains:

"For many years I had a single flash in my bag. A few attempts at single, straight flash with no diffusion produced flat images and the flash went back in the bag for another few years. About six years ago I decided to conquer my flash demons and learn how to use it properly. Using multiple off-camera flashes with a variety of diffusers (umbrella/soft box/socked dish/snoot) will transform any portrait or indoor scene. These days there is a wealth of information on the web, and of course with digital cameras we can see our results instantly, and adjust the lighting as necessary to get the picture we want, rather than the picture we are stuck with."

You just got a new follower on Flickr, Peter. So much compelling work to explore, even in a picture-sodden age like ours.

I'll second that. And I should have done so a long time ago.

Thought I had successfully hit that button, but it would seem I hadn't. Fixed. Because I meant what I said.

Love your work @pschlute

There must a number of other PF members in that gallery. I see Tom Ramsey (@ramseybuckeye) there.

There's also some guy called Ian Clark, although he hasn't uploaded any images yet. Anyone we know?

Bless you. I feel quite humbled by the attention, which I am sure I do not deserve.

Yeah, just seemed a bit tedious, if understandable, waiting for someone to approve them.

I've just uploaded five as a test, I'll see if it's ultimately worth the effort, Des!

My Flickr link is below, FWIW.

Five? I wouldn't know where to start with your images. Hope you get to remove the bushel from the light with Ricoh.

I haven't looked at this before. Wow, what a high-quality photostream. About the most under-appreciated I have ever seen! Buried treasure, I'd say, without titles, descriptions, tags, albums etc. Like one of those Melbourne bars where you have to go up three flights of stairs off a laneway and knock twice on an unmarked grey door. (Or so I hear.)

BTW the link to your Flickr page didn't show up for me, so I got it from your profile. For anyone reading this, here it is: https://www.flickr.com/photos/165937303@N02/
