Not “do everything” best walkabout option is what I think is being asked. The 18-135 is a compromise over seriously long ranges like the 18-300’s and such.
Primes are great too - but not as good at many things. Jack of all trades master of none applies but so does good enough.

As for lenses, any good quality 35mm on full frame or 24mm on APS-C is all you need. For most of the 1990s the only camera I used was an Olympus XA with its fixed 35mm, and I took some of the best shots of my life with it.
As a prime the DA 35 (either version - but the macro adds a capability at the expense of focusing speed and optical speed) and DA 21 are good choices but I’d almost always rather have the 20-40 with me.
