I just saw Inventing Anna.

There is a court scene in the last episode with several cameras. Hilarious. At about 56minutes a woman holds the battery grip with thumb in and fingers out like you would screw in a lightbulb. Only 2 have elbow in and one is in portrait with fingers woven around the flash around the 1hour mark. Also one is chimping in between shots at the critical entrance to court moment like it is a selfie.
Idea for a new Netflix series: Inventing Ansel. The story of an aspiring artist that fakes being a photographer. He almost succeeds until he's exposed by the Pentax Forum as holding the camera like a chimp.

After Yang (2022)

I think this is a K1000, just a few seconds into this trailer for the upcoming movie, After Yang.

Also looks like an A lens.

Or else with a long lens, at night, shooting from a moving car, with only the camera body being held, yet producing sharp perfectly exposed images. When is this camera (whoever makes it) being released for the use of the General Public ?
I've seen films where actors take shots with little kit zooms and then when we see the resultant photos they look very much like they were taken with a big telephoto.

You made my day! Loved it as a movie(although I liked Funeral in Berlin better....), so I am very excited to see it serialized.

Although, impossible to beat Michael Caine for jaded ennui, but I'll come to it w/o expectations and deal with it as its own thing.

There is a scene in the new Bosch Legacy series on Amazon where Bosch is examining the contents of a foot locker from the Vietnam era, and he pull out what looks to be a K-1000.

Google tells me that the Vietnam war ended in 1975 and the forum tells me that the K1000 was introduced in 1976...

Watching Stranger Things , a Netflix series set in the early 80s that features a Pentax ME super ! Talk about attention to detail !
The camera is being held correctly and the film advance and shutter sound are genuine too !

Pity he is not using a Pentax AF200T or AF280T flash, but you can't have everything. I see that Vivitar 283 is suffering from its well-known broken foot syndrome*; the similar less known 285HV was a better unit (but had the same foot).

* There was once a cottage industry replacing the feet with a stronger version. Maybe it still exists.

In the eighties you could reasonably expect an ME Super to work. Not now.
