Darn I'm quite a few years too late for Caterpillar Wish. Emily uses a K1000 regularly and towards the end of the film upgrade to a Mx I think it was. Pipped again.
I liked the idea of a Zenit better.

Somewhere, from the 70's I have a print of an old barn and what I naturally assumed was a ghost. Years later I learned about lens flare. Kind of ruined the moment for me.

Netflix series 'Queens Gambit' has a Life magazine photo shoot in series 1 episode 3. Series is set in the mid 60s. Pretty sure the camera is a spotmatic. To be confirmed. Excellent series by the way, particularly if you enjoy chess.

Oh I see its been reported already in the posts above - so has been confirmed..

The Netflix series, "Stranger Things" has a character taking photos with a Pentax. Another Netflix movie with one is "Welcome to Marwen."

Pentax in The Crown TV Series

I was watching season 4 of The Crown last night and there's a scene where a barrage of photographers are meeting a plane in the rain landing in Alice Springs for Prince Charles and Diane's tour of Australia. Several of the photographers are using Pentax cameras and flash. The scene is in episode 6 at exactly 11.54 minutes.

Saw that last night - and thought exactly the same thing. Must have used the Alice Springs Pentax Club as extras.

Could be some good advertising for the club and for the camera brand.

I finally binge watched Queen's Gambit and saw the Pentax. Really enjoyed the plot, the acting, the music, everything....except a few issues with the props. For example, the front door of the house presumably built in the 50's is a door that I believe didn't become available until the 1970's or later. The push button phone was introduced in 1963 but rotary phones were the norm until the 1970s. And then the house had grounded three hole outlets, not part of the US building code until 1971.

Spotmatics however were introduced in 1964, so that one they got right!
