Red Lighthouse
Lens: Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 Camera: Pentax K30

Was walking around trying out my 1st new tripod and sigma ultra wide lens...not sure if its my best but its definitely one of the best of the latest ones..photo is of the George Washington bridge and the lighthouse (constructed in 1889 and current tower built/lit on 1921 and also inspired a children's book back in 1942) on the New York City side of Washington Heights) ..win or lose i hope people enjoy it, thanks

I nominate this photo. The balance of color throughout the shot really grabs my eye -- love it.

Great composition

Great composition. Nice use of the Sigma. I have the Tamron 17-50 f 2.8, and have had good experience with night shots. Keep up the good work!

I second the nomination, but what are we nominating it for?

ive heard that tamron 17-50 is an awesome lens..only reason why i didnt get it was because i already had the 18-55 WR and wanted to go wider..but seen that tamron go alot sharper in some shots... thanks

oh and ivan i guess in the 1st round of the contest you can nominate people to be one of the 64 finalist for the 2nd round so people can help with the judging aswell ..its cool...thanks by the way

Yep -- for the K-3 contest. Moving past the first round is determined by each photo's total nominations.

Yes, I like the Tammy 17-50 a lot. I have mainly used it for low-light situations, parties and the like, as well as night photography. I also have a little know but quite excellent Pentax 24-90, and tend to grab it for the same sorts of shots that the Tamron would be good for because of this Pentax zoom's excellent IQ and extra reach on the long end. I really should try the Tamron for a wider variety of uses.

Thanks for the nomination... I'm at a loss for words..thank you

And ofcourse you're gonna use the Pentax..that's a really good lens..wish I could get my hands on a 15 ltd some day..but the sigma 10-20 3.5 has been awesome for night shots which is primarily why I got it

Great pic!

However, when I saw the title, I thought the thread was about a brothel (they are legal here).

You need to remove the space between light and house!
