I took the original photo on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson while it was in Hong Kong harbour. I loved the symmetry and made this composite for my brother's 50th birthday. The glow in the engines is actually from a photo my son suggested to me of the glowing interior of a thick paper tube burning in a rubbish fire we had in our back yard. The sunset was stolen from a camping trip in the southern interior of British Columbia. All in all I think it came together quite nicely.

My brother has this one hanging on his wall as a 50th birthday gift and days that it is a great conversation starter. It didn't hurt that it was taken on the deck of the ship that Seal Team 6 deployed from to take down America's most wanted. The Carl Vinson steamed into Hong Kong shortly after that mission.
