I nominate this photo. The title says it all. Two different worlds conveying in such a small frame. Great job.

OMG, I didn't even know that there was such a discussion here! Thank you all for your nominations and comments! it was so interesting to read I personally like this photo more with the building, of course, but I agree that more space between the building and the edge of the photo would be nice. Thank you all again! Will do my best in the second round

Hi, I'm from the central group of Island in the Philippines known as Region VI. It's really nice to be in this forum with lots of good "educated" (with the least insulting comments on photographers) remarks. I know I will not only enjoy this forum but will definitely learn a lot from it.

Love the photo. Tells a lot of story. You can even name the place even if it is not mentioned in the caption. I can cast my vote on this.

I disagree, bossa. Although I haven't decided for whom to vote, yet, this is the first photo that grabbed my attention enough to make me click on it to see the bigger picture. And that building ADDS CONTEXT. When I saw the building, I IMMEDIATELY thought "Dubai!" I'm far from an expert on what buildings in that part of the world look like, but I DO know that Dubai has a lot of very high-tech, modern skyscrapers, and the fact that there was a woman in full, black abaya right by a young woman in a "barely there" bikini meant there were only a handful of Arab countries it could be.

So yeah, the building adds context and interest, to me. Plus, it fills out "the rule of thirds," perhaps not with the best possible composition, but I still think the photo "says more" with it than without it.

I find the building debate interesting...
... I cloned it out .......What do you think?
I think re-doing someone else's photo without asking, particularly in a contest submission thread is completely inappropriate.

I was relaxing at the beach in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, when a muslim woman in black abaya captured my attention. And when I saw another woman in bikini passing by the moment was perfect for a shot.
