Glossy Ibis
Lens: Pentax f*300mm Camera: Pentax K5 

I took this at Canaveral National Seashore as a storm was building. I converted it to black and white using the channel mixer in Photoshop CS5

this really merit to be nominated! The atmosphere is great and it looks like a book illustration

It does look like an illustration but without the surreal manipulation.

Nonminated I love the contrast, the clarity of the subjects, this would look great in blown up on my wall!

No filter, Just K5 with f*300mm lens

Overly dramatic! but it works.
I like that color channel B&W conversion method too.
