I thought I'd add a little background information to this image. It was taken in the summer of 2012, June 19th to be exact at ~9:30 PM with my trusted K-r and old "plastic fantastic" FA 35-80 lens. The settings I used were f13, 2.5 sec exposure, ISO 400 at 35 mm (52 mm at the 1.5x crop factor of the camera). We were driving along the Danube back from a family gathering in north Buda when I noticed the perfect scene, and told the driver to stop the car immediately. I pulled out the camera, set it up on a mini tripod on top of the car and took a few shots. With the 2.5 sec exposure it was not easy to get the timing just right. Most shots had either boats or traffic in them, or the water was too blurred and soft from the wake of the boats, but this one turned out clean with just enough texture on the water, and was in my opinion the best of the bunch.
Post processing was pretty straight forward. The original image was slightly tilted, so I corrected for that, then cropped it to size, adjusted WB and added some minor sharpening. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did taking it - and thanks for looking! If you feel it fit, please don't hesitate to comment and nominate too
. Cheers!
