Frozen Lake
Lens: Pentax 67 SMC 45mm F4 Camera: Pentax 67II

Ilford SFX 200 (semi-infrared) film + Lee No 25 red filter. This film + filter combination results in a very deep and contrasty B&W image. One can also achieve a "pure" infrared result by applying a 715nm filter, because the film's sensitivity ends at 740nm. This is one of only two IR films one can purchase new today (the Rollei Infrared 400 being the other). The negative was scanned on a Epson V750 at 2400ppi, and minimal work in Aperture afterwards. I spend a lot of time with getting a best possible scan. In Aperture I spot (remove dustspots) the image, apply curves and sharpen the image.

This lake is called Jonsvann and is situated close to Trondheim, Norway. It is characterised by having many small islands, like the one in my capture. The lake is one of the main reservoirs for drinking water for the people of Trondheim, and is situated in the middle of a large recreational area (for hiking and skiing).

I nominate this picture. It's a great monochrome treatment of a classic landscape.
