Landscape Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis

Apparently I read that people are claiming 2012/2013 were good years for Aurora chase. So I packed up with a friend of mine and went for the chase last winter. And we were lucky enough to view one of the most spectacular scenes on earth! Here is a shot from that night! The show lasted for about 2 hours, which was not too short neither too long. What a night!

I nominate this - hard to imagine a better exposure, and great drama. Gosh I hope to see such a display, northern Oregon is seldom in the loop for the aurora

Thanks! Yeah, a wider lens will definitely be more interesting! Wanted to rent a canon 14mm or 16-35mm before the trip but was out of budget so had to stick with my 24-70
