:: Assassination ::
Lens: smc PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 WR Camera: Pentax K-5 II s

This is a picture of robber fly hunting or catching another smaller robber fly. This type of fly can be found in some of our backyard in Malaysia. In general, robber fly attacks a very wide range of prey, including other flies, beetles, butterflies and moths, various bees, ants, dragon and damselflies, ichneumon wasps, grasshoppers, and some spiders.

I took this full moment of picture using full flash method and with the aid of DIY flash diffuser. Taken by handheld at ISO100, Shutter speed 1/180 and aperture at F11.
I use ACR and Photoshop CS5 for image processing. The image processing is mild.

I'm not really a bug person (cats are more my style), but I have to say this is beautiful. Nominated.

Nominated. The great detail and color are what caught my eye. I'm not familiar with the robber fly, but most of the insects I try to capture with the camera will not stand still for me. Great shot of a moment in time.
