I think you have done splendidly at showing the tawdriness of these yellow penguins :P ( of course the intended function is quite serious I imagine - guiding the boats ? ) - at lest this is how I read this scene

Quietly, whimsical scene topped off by the two opposing arrows in the mid ground. Charmingly quirky! Nominated!
