An Empire State of Mind
Lens: MX-1 Camera: Pentax MX-1

This is a view towards downtown from high up in an office building in Midtown Manhattan while the sun was setting. I used the MX-1 which is a surprisingly good little camera....if they only made an equivalent with a m4/3 sensor!!!

f/2.8 iso 200 1/100" - but you can get away with f/2.8 and still have a lot of DOF because the sensor is so small.

I like the composition and the colors - both the architecture pictured and the colors of the sky looks superb ! I would like to see it a bit less processing though, as to my eye the sharpening took away quite a lot of detail - but I don't know how detailed and contrasty the original shot was since I don't know what MX-1 is actually producing out of camera.
Still a nomination from me for this superb capture !

Mannatx, you do have a point. It is easy to push the image from a sensor as small as that on the MX-1 too far. If this had been done on my K30, it would have been more forgiving.

I nominate this photo, from a fellow MX-1 owner. I'm always amazed at the quality of the pictures from that camera.

I nominate this photo. The lighting and composition really give this pictures a sense of space. Well done.
