I was photographing Spanish pond turtles (Mauremys leprosa) in Extremadura (Spain) during sunset. The sun was already behind the hill. So I was in the shadow with only the reflection of the hill and sky in the water. I had to use ISO 1600 and very low light, handheld. The turtle was also extremely shy. Every little movement scared him away. It was a very difficult picture to make. The plan was to make a photo of the turtle with the reflections in the water. After processing the image I discovered the face of a woman in the reflections. That was a big bonus. It is not my best photo when I look at image quality (sharpness, noise etc.), but I love the image!
It is as if their is a guardian lady who is protecting the pond turtles against danger.
