Abstract Aurora Australis, Cradle Mountain Tasmania, Nov 9 2013

My submission for the May "wow" factor contest is the Aurora Australis, taken at the iconic Cradle Mountain in Tasmania on November 9 2013.

I had to battle with the clouds for most of the evening and this is in fact only the second shot I took after arriving at the lake shortly after dark.

Taken with the Pentax K5, 12-24mm at 15mm; ISO2000; f4; 13 seconds.

Very nice shot - love the colors on the sky and also crisp stars - The mountains and the clouds comes in nicely adding to the composition. A nomination from me !
