Sunrise at Dead Horse Point
Lens: DA 17-70mm FA Camera: Pentax K7

Sunrise, December at Dead Horse Point, Colorado River, Just outside Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
The park is so named because of its use as a natural corral by cowboys in the 19th century. The "dead horse" part of the name is that the corral was abandoned, but the horses did not leave the corral, even after the gate was left open, and eventually died there.

slight amount of tilt on the horizon but otherwise fantastic image. Fantastic colors, dramatic sky that makes the horizon peek out even more. The rock face is glowing in the sun. It is a blessing to be able to see such things and to see the beauty in it.

Nominated.

I nominate this photo. The light is gorgeous, as are the repeating patterns, colors, depth and detail. Wow! Very beautiful.
