Her Body At Rest

I decided to go old school with my very first Pentax k1000.
Printed & processed in a friend's dark room, then scanned.

This model has a nearly perfect body but she said this was
her favorite from the shoot because it showed her relaxed
and not trying to live up to what she called "an art school
or porno ideal."

Ok, I can see how the numerous entries has caused some burials.
This is a blatant attempt to expose (intended pun) my new entry.
Yes, I have changed my image thrice and if I don't get any response
from this one, I think I will go back to the original and happily get
buried again~

ps. It is an absolute joy to look at all of the genius entries....truly
remarkable work and very inspiring. love & kisses to all!

My scanner muted some of the drama of this photo but I truly appreciate both of your comments
& your patience with my indecision~

Thank you so much, that is very kind.
The title, happy happy joy joy was for the first image I posted.
It is a bit incongruous with Her Body At Rest.

This Pentax forum & contest has been a treasure trove of
pure delight & I do not mind at all that mine will not be in the
running....I have learned so much from all of the sublime
entries!

Et toi! The comments the model are right. I'm bit of a shy type, but I saw an interesting landscape of varying degrees of shade and form. Nice one. Hope, I've made my nomination by writing this.

Nice intimacy and light Ceci: Female as landscape and not in the plastic way we normally see.

Seeing this image immediately reminded me of the fantastic work done by Ruth Bernhard. Tight cropping changes the body into a composition of shapes - curves and triangles. The side lighting is strong, and yet the photographer showed restraint and kept the right amount of shadow detail; the image does not devolve into two dimensions. I also find the use of film for the subject matter very appropriate, and frankly refreshing. The grain lends a luminous quality befitting of the nude form. Nominated!
