If they are existing members then no, but to have people sign up to a forum membership simply to vote on a contest photo seems to be stretching it. If the photo is any good I think there are plenty of honest folks who are members in good standing who will vote for it.

OK. I'm seeing now that, in a response to a question about this competition one admin DID say that people had to be registered before 06/04 to vote. This is a little bit of an odd place to put such important information and it is a shame that that was not made clearer upfront but as such I shall accept my fate if I am bumped out of the running so long as that rule is applied across the board.

That is the reason that I don't normally join these competitions. They seem more like a competition to see who has the most friends on Social Media! Ah well, let the chips fall where they may.

To be honest I feel the same way about the "popularity contest" aspect of some of these contests. I hope that in the final round at least it will be up to actual judges rather than just open to forum members. It did seem though that the first round played out pretty fairly, so I am hoping that members will be judging on an honest critique rather than social media pressures.

According to the rules, this round doesn't use nominations anyway. The photos will all be voted on together at the end of the submission phase.
