As with most things is you get what you paid for.
Anyone here has any experience with these flashes?

Or should I just try to master my cheap Godox flash?
Or save up money to buy the Pentax AF 160 FC?
As you can guess my knowledge and experience with flashes is not that good.
Will I benefit in a great deal to have a ring flash instead of a normal flash?

Personally I don't care for ring flashes, I find them to be a little harsh and unless you partially shade one side the light just seems to be too antiseptic to me. I use a regular but good flash head with a large home made diffuser using an empty ice cream box and paper towel to create soft light.

Funny you say that, Ringflash was invented in 1950's by a dentist that wanted a flash for medical and forensic purposes that provided even and direct illumination across the scene that minimized shadows

I have never tried a ring flash, but thats my concern as well. Looking at the Sheehan video link, he has a little square 6x6" cardboard thing ducktaped to a flash with a aluminum strap connecting the base to the camera, or some such contraption. When i first tried strobist stuff, I did what you suggested - used a cardboard food container of some sort and masking tape. It was cool how well that worked. One uses the ends to fold in or open up the light - very instructive on how well that works.

The newer manual flashes and some of the auto flashes have really small fractional power output that helps enormously to avoid too much flash.

This was an old cabinet for over a stove with vent holes in the bottom and top. Too small for the flash to sit in, so it was a bounced 1/128 power shot into the cabinet. I didn't know photoshop back then :-).
