Indeed but that's about as macro as I get, I'll leave it to you clever big magnification folk to come up with that.

Very nice image..... obviously earlier in the year, right? Those lilies seem to be a favorite subject with a lot of us. I think the stamens provide a worthy focus point to test the actual sharpness of the image... and you nailed it! What lens did you use?

That one was taken a few years ago - wild Tiger Lily that are abundant on our property. I had to look back what I shot that with back then - k-5 w/Sigma 180mm f3.5 macro @f22. That is one of those lenses that I really regret getting rid of.

Here's another one like you say - focused on the stamen. This one was shot with a Panasonic G3 w/45-200 lens - I was in major camera experimental stage back then......

Yellow on Yellow

I was testing a batch of lenses to see which were worth keeping and finally, I got tired of the mediocre results. So, I broke out my old Vivitar 75-205mm lens and this was the result. My oh my, I surely do like this lens! It never fails me, close in, across the room or across the field. So much for the Hanimex, the Auto Cosina, the Tuo Five Star, Albinar, Tokina and all the other, basically worthless lenses that are taking up space in my world! They can't hold a candle to this oldie but goodie!

Dewman, nice images there.
is that Viv. 75-205 is it the f3.8 or f3.8-4.5 version?
Thanks.

Ooops: scratch that I made a blunder, the 3.8-4.5 version is a 75-250, sorry

but a question remains, is it the 2 ring design or one touch model? https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/vivitar-75-205mm-f3-8-macro-focusing.html

Thanks for the comment. It is the one touch model. I don't own a Series 1 lens.... YET... but I hope to find a nice, clean one in the coming year. The postman brought a clean copy of the 80-200mm version yesterday. I already had one, but the price was just so ridiculously cheap, I had to buy it. These older, wonderfully capable Vivitar lenses are such a bargain, it can become an obsession if one is prone to LBA!

Wow - fantastic shots! Yes, the lens does a nice job but so does the operator!
