What flower is it? Looks like something from the movie "Alien".

Waterlily. I did not tweak the white balance or color in this shot and says the colors are the original as what I see :-)

Two fine threads, indeed.

Here's one I haven't posted there.........

It should fit right in here.

Actually, Tiny Flowers are mostly macro shots. If you read how Paleo Pete (aka Billy) got his shots and how I got mine, these are all macros.

Thank you for this. When I saw this thread earlier, I checked the macro section, certain there had to be a dedicated flower thread. I wouldn't have even known where to look for the threads mentioned by Na Horuk.

That's why when I first joined I checked all forums to see what options I had for posting my photos. Pete started Tiny flowers. His was meant to be for those flowers that were the size of a dime or smaller.

I've went through the forums pretty well, but after taking a look at that section, I see how it could be easy to miss. There are a ton of threads in that section, and while I saw the Bigger Flowers at the bottom of the first page, I missed Tiny Flowers on the second page. I'll also say that nothing I've posted would qualify for the under the size of a dime criteria -- but it does give me something to shoot for

I have tiny wildflowers in my yard. Pete finds his in the field, woods, etc. Some you'll miss if you're not paying close attention to where you step.

The best we have in our yard, are buttercups, so those would actually work pretty well. We still have a few hikes on Mt. Rainier left in us for the year, and they have normally have plenty of wildflowers to choose from -- so I'll be on the lookout for sure.

Thanks again

I think this is a great thread! Many of us like taking photos of flowers, especially macros, and, up until now, we had no real home!

This was taken with a SMC Pentax-M f:1.4, 50mm lens with a reversing ring.
