What to shoot indoors?
Posted By: audiobomber, 11-21-2014, 08:18 PM

The weather is not conducive to macro shooting outside for the next five months around here. Do you have any ideas for what to shoot indoors? Samples would be great.

I have seen folks catalogue their collectibles such as watches, jewelry or any thing that is small and interesting.
I do not have any samples myself unfortunately but I won't rub it in.

Jewelry is promising. Watches are very interesting and tough to shoot due to the front glass. Thanks for the suggestions.

Right after I posted, I found this thread, which is chock full of ideas: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/177-macro-photography/270356-post-your-un...-subjects.html

Frankly I'd like to close my thread and just participate in the other.

What's important to you? Look around at what seems familiar and try to see it anew.

1. "Guess what common object I am" photos are always fun, macros of a lot of common household items stump all but the most observant.

2. Make the mundane exotic, try a new angle, lighting, etc. Small flashlights and glass can be pretty interesting:

Or this:

Houseplants are always good, too.
