A couple from the new garden...

I moved house recently and have been doing a bit of renovation/decoration around the place. During my trips around the new garden I came across these two little critters

Not bad considering I didn't have much to lean on and I'm not to happy being that close to spiders....

Anyone know what they are?

I think your 2nd one is one of the typical orb-weavers in the Family Araneidae. Don't know what the first one is.

Perhaps a trapdoor spider if it came out of a hole in the ground ..

I think the eye arrangement of the first one makes it a Wolf Spider of some kind? BugGuide.net is the place to go for identification.

The two spiders were well captured and great control of light and exposure. You sure are an experienced macro shooter.

Your signature, P30, was my first pentax bodies bought sometime 1985 and I still have the same body with me, fully manual with A priority

Thanks for the guides folks, I've come to the conclusion both spiders fit into category of "Not in my house mate"....

Marcus, thanks for the comments. I'm not that experienced with macro, just lucky! I still love my P30, but the toss up between the costs and time of developing prints against the costs and time of taking digital and only picking the prints I want means my P30 is safely tucked away for posterity. It was my first Pentax SLR, and I learnt a lot from it.
