Macro Low cost mac

I have finally put together my low cost macro kit. It comprises:

Pentax ist DS ($50)
Elicar Auto-Macro 8 Ring Flash ($30)
Macro-Takumar 50mm f4 ($100) modified to include SMC coated elements

I have only taken a couple of shots with the TTL ring flash as I am still getting used to it. Here is one (jpg from the camera with some PPing in iPhoto)

OK, updated firmware and added a bigger SDHC card

Now shooting in RAW and much better (previous photo was 1.5MP shot).

And for some reason the upload is 'degraded' compared to my local copy of the image. Any tips for uploading?

Post from a link not a direct uploaded image on here. Even some linked photo storage sites will show a degraded image on here.
