fixed macro for pentax 6x7

what fixed lens would I get for macro pictures that I would be really close to the subject? Is it a small focal length that means I would be close to the subject for it to be in focus? thanks.

There are two Pentax 67 macro lenses. The 100mm f4 and the 135mm f4. Of the two the 100m f4 will get you closest to your subject. Min focusing distance is listed as 0.44m with a magnification of 0.5x.

The 135mm f4 has a minimum focusing distance of 0.75m and a magnification of 0.3x.

There is also a 1x converter to get you to life size 1:1 available for the 100mm f4 lens.

You can also attach Pentax 67 Extension Tubes to either lens for additional magnification.

Regards

Chris

This is your only real option for the Pentax 6x7 system, the 67 100/4 Macro is superb and comes with the LSC which gives you 1:1 magnification:

I have used a Nikkor 105 enlarging lens with a mount cemented to a 6X7 body cap mounted on a 6X7 helicoid extension tube. You will need to stop down manually.

You don't have to have a macro lens to shoot at macro distances. You could use the 165mm LS with tubes or even the 105 with tubes or even the 150mm Takumar. But DOF becomes a concern with macro shooting, so selecting a lens with f/32 or smaller will be important. That is why I prefer the 165LS. It has f/32. How close you can get depends on how much extension you use, added to the close focusing ability of the lens itself.
