Based on user feedback, in order to better distinguish between technique-related and photo-sharing threads, and ultimately improve forum browsability, the Macro forum will be merged with the Photographic Technique and Post your Photos sections in the coming weeks. Technique-related threads will be moved to the former, and photos to the latter.

The technique forum will get a new set of optional prefixes (macro, astro, etc.) to help clarify the sub-topic being discussed in each thread, when appropriate. Similarly, photos moved from here to the PYP section will be tagged with the "macro" prefix.

While this change isn't happening right away, please feel free to start posting threads with photos in the PYP section, as this will help simplify the merging process. Thanks!

That's a great idea, and it presents an opportunity to bring together helpful resources on techniques, and lens and lighting setups already posted by members in a number of threads including those relating to flowers and insects, as well as macro. Perhaps members will be given an opportunity to re-post these in the new thread.
It would also be great to see a wildlife/telephoto technique thread to consolidate related postings such as those on bird in flight photography and hand-held telephoto shots, and any new tips members might be willing to provide. The 300mm+ lens thread is great but it is mostly a "post your photos" thread these days.

So if you have a macro photo detailing technique and equipment used you have to post the technique/equipment in one forum and the photo in another? I don't see any photos in the technique forum.
