I've checked all images and each one is present and accounted for. You may have had a temporary glitch.

The key word here is

"Contrasting". Complementary colors are Opposites on the color wheel. I think some people may not know this. When somoene says complementary, some assume that it means colors that go together or something. It actually means colors that are opposites but they compliment each other. Here is a link that describes it in detail and includes a color wheel. I'm not trying to be a smart a@# here, just trying to help those that may not know. There are some very good entries. Good luck to everyone!

Yes that is the rule, but in photography some rules can be bent and others can be broken

Complementary, not complimentary

Please, stop writing "complimentary". The word is complementary.

Noun 1. complementary - either one of two chromatic colors that when mixed together give white (in the case of lights) or grey (in the case of pigments); "yellow and blue are complementaries"
Adj. 1. complementary - of words or propositions so related that each is the negation of the other; "`male' and `female' are complementary terms"
2. complementary - acting as or providing a complement (something that completes the whole)

See this page for a visual explanation: http://www.colourtherapyhealing.com/colour/complementary_colours.php
(I'm not endorsing the well-being stuff, I just like the display).

Colours are only complimentary if one colour tells the other how nice it looks.

Someone had to say it.

And I'm glad you did. I'm often accused of being a spelling nazi but truly... its gotta be done.

On a brighter note: some lovely shots there

Wow excellent selection! The great question is are we appreciating lens quality like 24,26 etc or the photographer “eye” like 27 or 29! Not easy answer. I would go for the eye…with no disrespect (!!!) to the time and effort in a good sharp close-up
