Contest Number: 49 Contest Theme: Reflections Lens: Tamron 75-300mm Camera: K20D Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F6.7 09-15-2010, 03:07 PM
My wife and I were in our canoe, following our friends in their kayaks. We came upon this bird sitting on a rock, but kept our distance as we took pics. The bird flew away and we came across it later on sitting on another rock. I started to click away but was ready for him to fly this time. When he took off, I followed him with the lens. Luckily the camera was in "machine gun" mode as I held the shutter release down and hoped that out of the multiple shots, I got one good one. When I reviewed the pics, this is the one I liked best.
Coincidentally, with regard to this contest theme, the pic was taken on Mirror Lake in Wrentham, MA.
