The theme for the official PentaxForums.com photo contest for October, 2010 is:

Water
Be creative with this theme! (you probably don't want to post photos of the ocean

)

There will be two prizes for the winner of this contest and of future contests: featuring in our premier gallery, as well as 100 forum reputation points- a large step toward 'Pentaxian' status, added attachment space, and Marketplace access! As usual, please do not post your submissions in this thread; see above! Limit one photo per user. Good luck to all participants! If this is your first contest, you may be interested in reading rules and procedure below.

Contest Procedure | Contest Rules | Submit | Vote for September's Photos

We invite everyone to participate in this month's contest and also vote for last month's entries! The poll is now accessible using the above link.

As always:

One photo per user. Re-submissions should be made as replies in your original submission thread.
Photo must be between 300x300 and 1024x1024 pixels, and smaller than 1Mb
We prefer that your photos are submitted as attachments - they load faster, and guarantee that you're within limits

Once, I click on "SUBMIT" I can choose to post only in the contests 48 & 49. No choice of the contest 50.

Is that a bug or am I too quick and the contest did not start yet

Same here. Only, I actually submitted a photo, which ended up in the "Reflections" contest submissions, rather than the new one. Should I wait and re-submit, or can it be moved to the proper submission thread by the admin?

I have just submitted my very first photo for this month contest.
Once loaded, the photo appears NOT AT ALL as sharp as the original (resized) pic.
Is this a major inconvenience as far as "voting" goes?
Just wanted to know.

Try attaching it with dimensions that do not need to be resized (<1024x700).

The dimensions were OK ... 1024 x 689.
I did enter the photo for the contest already and all seemed to be going the way it should.

Can you find my pic in there?

Besides: I still cannot go for voting in the No. 50 contest - Water.
Edit: this what I am getting when trying to get to vote for the September (No.50) contest:

Your photo was scaled by the system. I'm going to bump the limit up to 1025 so that it doesn't scale 1024px photos.

Yup, September is #49, not #50.
