This is a very interesting and challenging idea Adam. With your permission, I would like to attempt a review of the A 50/1.2. I can compare it to the DA WR 18-55 and 50-200, and the A 28-135/4 and 50/1.7; I just might be able to borrow an FA 50/1.4, as well. Would that be a sufficient crop of comparisons, and would you want all of them used?

Thanks for your time,
Jacob

Sounds like a good number of lenses to compare it to, but I'd throw out the A 28-135mm as it's not really relevant, IMHO.

I've added you to the list! Good luck!

On the 12th, we'll be uploaded our K-r and 35mm reviews, so you'll be able to take a look at those to see the type of format you guys should be aiming for.

Either the 50-150 or 35-105 would be fine. Up to you! I think it would be hard time-wise to do two reviews, unless you're up for it, of course! I know that my 18-135mm review took about 10-12 hours, while the K-5 review took over a week of intermittent work.
If the 50-150 comparison plans are sufficient, then the 50-150 it is. I feel it's more relevant, maybe the 35-105 should have a go at the other challenge.

I could give it a go with my Pentax SMC M 50mm F/1.7, as I've been wanting to do something like this with the lens for a long time, and it seems to me that my copy of the lens is in pretty nice condition!
I also consider myself quite fluent writer even thou I'm not native speaker.

I've put you down for the 50-150mm!

I'm not finding these as current lenses, and the F4.5 looks like it's been discontinued.

Could you possibly do some Pentax alternatives?

I've put you down for the 50mm! Sounds good! Make sure you do some comparisons in there.

Considering that nobody else has gotten back to me, sure! I've added you to the list. Note that on the 12th, our K-r review is coming up, so that can serve as a model.

Comparison shots with the K-r would be a very nice bonus, if possible.

My understanding is that 17/4 FE, 50/1.2 and F 28-80 are also discontinued... But, that's fine. No, Adam, I don't think that anyone would really benefit from yet another review of FA 31 or DA 21 Limited. These are fine lenses and quite famous too.

Pentax does not have any alternative to Sigma 24-60/2.8. That's why I wanted to review it, so that if people have specific needs that are answered by this lens, they will have a bit more info re this lens.

Will FA 20/2.8 do?

Any chance I could work on the MF Vivitar/Kyron 100mm F2.8? That has lots of interesting points... One more note: I am definitely willing to write my best review, but I may get too busy to be actually able to write it, how bad would that be?

I'd like to do FA 35. I can compare it to the SMC Takumar 35, 18-55 WR, Tamron 28-75, and DA 40 if needed
