An extraordinary collection of urban images. Congratulations to all participants, winners or not. It was very difficult to make a choice, and actually painful to have to choose in some cases.

This body of work deserves wider exposure, for sure.

I see a couple of duplicates from another Pentax monthly challenge being voted upon right now. I'll need a day or so to give the other images a good hard look. Nice job everyone.

Awesome shots, but still glad I don't live close enough to a city to post shots.

I would love to know which settings were used for which pictures and which camera. Some of those pictures are truly breathtaking.

The images in this contest seem to be quite better than the ones in the other challenge. Great work guys, it was pretty difficult to choose just three of these.

There are some awesome shots here... Good Luck to everyone!!!

Also, I dont know about everyone else.. but I enjoy checking the voting screen.. It is like watching a horse or dog race.. everyday different ones inch up or inch ahead.. (I think I may have to much time on my hands... )

Thanks to everyone for voting! We're getting a wonderful turnout this month

Because 5 entries are really close to each right now, though, I'm considering running a "tiebreaker" for the top 6 photos in this poll. Since prizes will be awarded to the top two entries as well as to an honorable mention, I think we'll eventually need a better sense of who wants which photo to win. The tiebreaker poll would be a normal poll, only allowing 1 vote per user and not 3.

What do you say?

I think since there are Prizes this time, that a run-off (tie-breaker) would be a good idea... Althought chosing one out of that top 5 will really be hard.....

Cityscapes

I am hosting Pentax Challenge #26 on the "other" forum with the same theme! I only realized today that this one was running too. Both contests were launched the same day, Sept 1st, but completely independently.
Some very good photos here, but check out the other one too!
Though a member of this forum for some time I don't come here often because I'm on dial-up and this forum seemed to be particularly slow: however it seems to be faster now.
In this connection, why not limit the size of photos posted to someting like 300k instead of 750K? In my experience a 800x534 pic does not need better than photoshop 8 quality compression, giving under 200k in the majority of cases

Do you have a link to the "other" forum? Why not just say it?

Don't know, I've seen others refer to it like that, maybe you're not supposed to, anyway, here's the link to the voting thread:
