Wow some really great entries, I'm glad we've got 15 votes because I'm going to need every one of them!

15 votes?

That's off the charts. It was three last month, right?

But 15? Who the heck has the time to sort 15? And what value does that hold anyway?

Five tops makes sense.

I am glad to see the quality of the entries a bit better than last month

Many photos are really good this month. Although there are few sunsets, there are really two or three strikingly hot. Great pictures overall.

Too many sunsets.
And at night when I put my toys up for the day,
I take a long look as the Sun goes away,
I look up at the sky and I thank God,
that I got one more day out of this old bod,
No, it doesn't take a poke or a prod For me,
to know, that for every sunset that I see,
I have another day coming
for my Pentax and me.

sorry aeros, i didn't mean to detract your entry. i was just asking a question about what is allowable in this or any contest. i have never participated in any of them (new forums user, but lifetime pentax user) so haven't checked old contests.
as a designer, i also use brushes and paints, airbrush and enamel, metal forge, 3d modeling and rendering, and others. but in a photo contest, i assume we show what happens between our brain and the film/sensor (viewfinder, aperture, mirror, glass, curtain, etc.)
i mean, the entry #101 is very nice, a snail on a pumpkin looking at the moon, but is this a photo contest or a photoshop contest? (i really like the 101, its very well done, the #64 not so much, for the highlights behind the man's legs, a little shadow behind them could have worked?)
anyway, creativity is a strange concept and the acceptance of that creativity is stranger.

Some great photos in this one. I'm sorry I didn't have time to enter this month. Then again, I probably would have entered a sunset, so just as well.

You don't have to vote for 15.

I voted for about 7. Voting for the maximum just waters down the votes for the ones that really blow you away.

The rules state:

"Post-processing that enhances your submission is allowed"

Photo-manipulation is not explicitly allowed or banned in the rules.

I think this is a legitimate question and I made a point of asking the Mods before submitting if combining two images was allowed. They said no problem.

That said some voters will be put off by this and won't vote for it, of course. But that's OK. Lots of great images and I wouldn't have voted mine for #1 myself!

What a wonderful visual feast for the eyes in this contest. Wonderful entries, inspiring to greater heights with the eye, the finger and da Pentax. Well done everyone, and the best one is sure to win.

Regards
