Hello everyone,

This will serve as the official discussion/question thread for our 10th installment of the World Pentax Day event, which will take place on June 18th, 2011.

Overview of the Event

The full details can be found on our homepage. In a nutshell, this is an event in which Pentax users from around the world all go out and shoot on the same day (individually or in groups, it's up to you) and then post photos in a collective gallery. Photos must be taken on June 18th, but can be uploaded between then and the end of the month into the gallery. Each photographer may upload up to 5 photos.

Giveaway

In addition to the main event, we will be giving away one Pentax limited lens to a lucky participant (it will likely be the DA 40mm). The more photos you post (remember that the limit is 5), the higher your chances are of winning!

After uploading your photos, all you will have to do is post in a thread stating you'd like to partake in the giveaway (it is open to users worldwide) as well as like us on facebook. Also, you will have to visit the facebook page of our sponsor. That's it - we'll take care of the rest!

pretty bloody upset at myself, head to Coney Island for the mermaid parade. Only to get my pics in Lightroom to realize my camera's date is on the 17th FML

I think I've entered. Don't know for sure, this is one of the most screwy things I've ever seen for a contest entry (then again, I'm not facebook savvy).

So I realize now that the date wasn't set correctly on my camera and the photos I posted for World Pentax day all say August 2009. Oh well, I hope this doesn't disqaulify me from the giveaway. I really did take those pictures on the 18th!

I will manually move your photos back, as the system has probably already moved them due to the date mismatch.

Darn. I uploaded a photo and the board isn't recognizing the full EXIF data...

Any way to get it deleted and try a different way of uploading it?

Not sure why it didn't work uploading from my computer, since I just uploaded it to Flickr and the EXIF data is all there.

I've now deleted it for you. The gallery does not scale images, so if the data isn't showing up, it's either not there, corrupt, or incomplete (note that our system can't read proprietary data like flickr does).

OK, thanks! Not sure what to do now. I'm using Lightroom to export and I don't have the minimize Metadata button ticked, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll see if I can figure it out.

You can try with GIMP. It preserves the EXIF info.

I just tried it with Photoshop and it looks like it saves the EXIF info too. Going to look at the info of some other photos first to make sure.

I noticed that other people had asked if they had a different name on facebook than on PentaxForums, would they still be able to get the credit for liking either PentaxForums or B&H Photo on FB? I am Cindy Farr-Weinfeld on FB and just "liked" B&H Photo on FB and have also "liked" PentaxForums on FB under the same name--can you make sure I get credit for this too Adam or other Admin/Mod? Thanks! :-)
