Glacial Sculpting of Bedrock Surface Contest Number: 70 Contest Theme: Shadows Lens: SMC 1.8/50mm Camera: Vintage Pentax KM 06-04-2012, 03:20 PM
The extreme erosive nature of the glaciers that occurred in New Brunswick, Canada during the Pleistocene created magnificent bedrock sculptures. I happened upon this stunning exposure while working close to the Bay of Fundy shoreline in southwestern New Brunswick. The harsh mid-afternoon light casts shadows that highlight the fine detail of the glacial striae on the bedrock surface.
Photo taken using vintage Pentax KM with Pentax-K 1.8 55mm lens. Kodak Gold 100 film.
