Wefirst saw this martial eagle perched on a tree limb holding a Spotted Genet cat whichhe had just killed. He then flew away, initially clutching the genet in one talon, to enjoy his meal in a more privatespot. Martial eagles are the largest of Africa’s eagles, with a wing span of six to eight feet.Small Spotted Genet cats measure about 36 inches from nose to tip of tail, soseeing this bird and its prey in flight was quite an exciting experience.
