The old red fire carriage
Contest Number: 97 Contest Theme: Complementary Colors Lens: SMC Pentax 85/1.8 Camera: K-3 Shutter Speed: 1/15s Aperture: F1.8
Posted By: utak, 09-24-2014, 12:43 AM

Autumnal reds, blue-greens and browns, taken at Syon House, London, in the old Tudor horse stables. Hand held stitch of two, no flash. (Hope a stitch is OK).

The carriage dates back to the time (over one hundred years ago) when large country houses maintained their own fire equipment.

Not only complimentary colours, but complimentary elements, from the window pickets and wheel spokes, to the strong Geometry.

Nominated. Great composition with effective but sparing use of colors and shapes, interesting lighting contrasts contribute to the moodiness of the composition.
