Silk & Eucalypt Wrap
Contest Number: 98 Contest Theme: Wrapped, Covered, or Packaged Lens: Tamron 90mm Macro Camera: Pentax K5 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F13.5

I know that nobody will vote for a spider but I love the way these Leaf-wrapping Spiders make their little homes. They stay tucked away in them all day and even at night it takes a few subtle tricks to get them to come out and show themselves.

I have added this image from flicker for resolution but there also seems to be quite a difference in colour!

Thanks for the comments and nominations. This spider is less than 1cm long so not really that creepy.
Once again I'm disapointed by the image compression on my attachments. Why has my 1024*1023 pixel image become 801*800 pixels. All the detail in the web and the fine details on the spider are gone. Next time I think I will link from an external site rather than use the attachment system as recommended.

Clever shot.....And very well lit....Seems to be more appreciation of spiders then you imagined.....You are enhancing their reputation!

Matthew, how can you not like a spider - especially the tiny ones that only a macro can find

well done

This an awesome shot, very nicely composed and I love the negative space and depth of field. Nominate!
