This egret was trying to bite off more than he could chew, literally. He kept trying to re-position the fish to get it into a position where it might slip down his throat. Now and then he lost his grip and the fish would flip from the egret's mouth. It never got far though, before the bird swooped it up again. Finally he gulped down this huge meal.
