Bee Cool
Contest Number: 101 Contest Theme: Best of 2014 Lens: Pentax-A 1.4/50mm w/Tube Camera: Pentak k5 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F16
Posted By: Sliver-Surfer, 01-20-2015, 08:49 PM

I usually shoot macro at a higher speed and 100iso but I wanted to get the nice green backround instead of black. So I shut my flash off, set the shutter to 1/60 and the aperture to f16 and the camera told me it wanted 400 iso so I switched to M turned the flash on and shot away. At 1/60th of a second the Fleabane(Tiny Daisy like weed) would dance with the wind across the sensor blending in with the background. The Small Carpenter Bee and Fleabane is then exposed by the Flash. This little fella is about 6mm long or 1/4inch.

Nominate.
I love the result with such a little bee, especially with the flower and the background, but I'd like to see it even bigger

Thanks, I have to experiment with reverse mounting to get it bigger..maybe next summer. I use a full set of extension-A tubes and an A 50mm lens almost religiously when I macro.
