Contest #121 - September, 2016 (Repeating Patterns)
Contest Number: 121 Contest Theme: Repeating Patterns
Posted By: Ole, 09-01-2016, 12:44 AM

The theme for the official Pentax Forums photo contest for September, 2016 is:

Repeating Patterns

This month's theme is Repeating Patterns. Show us a photo where a pattern or a subject is repeated over and over. You could even decide to go overboard and simplify your photograph to focus on the pattern as in the second illustration below! Your subject can be anything with some repetition to it: Buildings, artwork, colors, people, trees, etc. Good luck!

Click here to Submit a Photo

Remember: your submission must be taken with a Pentax camera or a Ricoh digital camera and be scaled to web-friendly resolution. After clicking on the link above, attach your photo using our attachment system (preferred) or link to an external image. Only 1 submission per person.

And don't forget to nominate your favorites from last month

Prizes

1st place: $50 B&H gift card + homepage feature
2nd place:
1-year forum account upgrade (Marketplace seller access + greatly increased photo space)
3rd place: 50 sheets of premium photo paper from Red River Paper.

Why don't the photos go in this thread? It seems a bit more complicated than it needs to be. Not sure if my last entry was done right.

So that until it is time to nominate, no one will see what other competitors are thinking. One would not want another to see their submission and say, “Oh, great job but I can do that better,” thus eliminating one's efforts.

This method means that, until it is time for nominations, only you can see your submissions. It also mens that, should you improve your own image, simply add the new image to your thread. Only your last submission is accepted.

That makes sense, I guess.

This part is incorrect. See this rule in the contest rule thread:

QuoteQuote:
Only the first post of your first submission thread will be checked for a photo. Thus, to change your submission, simply edit your post. Do not reply with additional submissions.

Read the "Fine Print" portion.

Yeah, somewhat contradictory there. The best thing is to follow the “fine print” section and not the section above it.
