Bowed footbridge.

Thanks for using the bridge as an important element of a larger scene....this is not just a picture of a bridge.Nice mixture of "shadow shapes" compared with the railing pattern. Great tonality, no blasted high-lights, no totally black shadows. Besides that, I'm a sucker for black and white images. I'd be proud to hang a print of this on my wall.

Exquisitely dreamlike...the composition draws me into the scene as if I am actually crossing the bridge into a mysterious other world. The landscape is reminiscent of those found in novels such as Jane Eyre, and it feels as if the bridge and foreground are warmer toned than the distant woods which adds to the feeling of transformation on the other side. The play of light against the almost silhouetted trees is so emotional, and the geometric patterns from the railings work beautifully in counterpoint to the organic shadows cast by branches. NOMINATED!
