Purple rain

Taken at Llyn Padarn in the Snowdonia mountain range. As I was waiting for the sunrise on a rainy morning the sky briefly lit up in purple complimenting the welsh mountain slate underfoot. This light is known as the belt of Venus or antitwilight arch and is an atmospheric phenomenon visible during civil twilight. To the right you can see the lights from nearby Llanberis.
