I don't recall anything in the original about a complete flower's being necessary. I think if that's what you prefer as a viewer and judge, or perhaps what you yourself photographed, you've got some good examples here.
Personally, I think all these images are on-theme and fine to vote for. But I'd love to see the full theme again . . . though part of me thinks it may have simply been "Flowers Up Close."
