This is Angus, a "pet" Eagle Owl that belongs to a friend of mine who's a very accomplished and well known falconer. Angus was found in the field with a badly injured wing. All attempts by the vet to save it were fruitless, so sadly, it had to be amputated. Dave has had Angus for 8 years now and despite all the care Dave has shown him, he says that Angus still "hates my guts!" I'll admit, I was pretty wary, being this close to him in his enclosure. He began to hiss at me, so I called the photo session over with!

If you look closely at his left eye, you can see my reflection.... standing in the doorway to his enclosure.
