I'm guessing most people don't realise that #2 is a composition (ferry located in Sydney Harbour pasted onto an unrelated New Zealand backdrop). Apparently it is within the rules though, so good luck to them I guess!

All of the submissions were wonderful. I voted for 15 because the strong emotions that it triggered in me. I absolutely love boating in the northeast US so that photo triggered a feeling of sorrow or almost impending doom with the end of the season and start of the long cold winter. Others may have been more technically strong but the subject matter of 15 nailed it for me.

No. 9 and 14 have a common theme and are dominated by the contrasting colour. But a ruin like the No.10 is difficult to meet,

I do not agree with those who said that a boat that no longer navigates is not a boat. Often the things that are no longer are the most beautiful.

All great. Nº 12 is my vote considering not only the great image, but the difficulty of the work of been there at the right time. (as one famous photographer said). ( Eisenstaed?)

By the way, and not willing to polemize, but me too think that any identification on the images should be avoided.

I managed 2 nation wide contests in my place with 1800 and 2050 entries each one (we are a small country) and the rules did not accepted any sort of identification but
the sender's data in a separate letter which was used by the manager of the contest to assign a number which was informed to the sender once the selection was made.
But those were days of expensive film and paper.
