Since the voting is over I guess I can reply to this. It was a single exposure, handheld because I didn't have my tripod with me and I was shooting from a bike. Parameters were: 29mm, f/11, 1/45, ISO 100. I was shooting in aperture priority with multi-segment metering, with -1 EV exposure compensation in order to preserve the highlights and relying on the amazing dynamic range of the K-1 in order to bump up the shadows at post-processing.
Lens used was DFA 24-70mm which has quite nice flare resistance for a zoom and in the right conditions produces nice starbursts. Also, this has to do with stopping down the lens and waiting for the right moment when the sun is partially obscured by the trees in order to get the starburst. This usually doesn't last too long as the sun goes down quite fast, so you have to be swift.
